Laura van der Heijden won the BBC Young Musician competition at the age of 15 and has gone on to captivate audiences and critics alike with the sensitivity of her sound and interpretations. As well as performing concertos with several major orchestras around the world, collaborative music-making is immensely important to Laura, and she regularly participates in international chamber music courses and festivals.

This evening, Laura is joined by Tom Poster, a musician whose skills and passions extend well beyond the conventional role of the concert pianist. He has performed over forty concertos from Mozart to Ligeti, premiered solo, chamber and concertante works by many leading composers, made multiple appearances at the BBC Proms, and his exceptional versatility has put him in great demand at festivals internationally.

We are very pleased to welcome both artists back to Cockermouth.
